Announcement about Launchpool participation rule update

2023-07-13 12:00057

This announcement is updated on July 12, 2023, at 12:00 AM (UTC+8).

1. Rule updates have been made to the staking amount of users participating in the Launchpool promotion.

General pool staking amount rules:

For users staking in the normal pool, the staking amount per period is the average BGB holdings for the seven days prior to the start of the promotion, and the staking amount cannot be higher than the maximum individual staking amount.

How averaging BGB holdings is calculated:

Average BGB holdings = Sum of BGB holdings in each hour ÷ Number of snapshots.

Calculations for Launchpool promotions take into consideration the user's average holdings in all accounts (including the spot account, margin account, futures account, P2P account, Earn account, and bot account).

For example:

Snapshot period: July 5, 10:00 AM – July 7, 10:00 AM (UTC+8)

Assume you are holding 20,000 BGB on July 5. You add another 30,000 BGB in your holdings on July 6, 10:00 AM (UTC+8), and this results in a total of 50,000 BGB in your holdings. Then, you add another 30,000 BGB in your holdings on July 7 at 10:00 AM (UTC+8). Now, you have 80,000 BGB in your holdings.

Because a snapshot is captured every hour, and the snapshot period lasts 72 hours, a total of 72 snapshots will be taken.

Your average BGB holdings = (20,000 BGB × 24 + 50,000 BGB × 24 + 80,000 BGB × 24) ÷ 72 = 50,000 BGB.

If the maximum individual staking amount for the promotion is 60,000 BGB, the amount you can stake is 50,000 BGB.

If the maximum individual staking amount for the promotion is 50,000 BGB, the amount you can stake is 50,000 BGB.

If the maximum individual staking amount for the promotion is 40,000 BGB, then the amount you can stake is 40,000 BGB.

Notes:

A user's average holdings will be regarded as zero if the calculation result is negative.

The snapshots for each hour will be taken at a random moment in that hour.

Frozen and locked-up BGB will be included in the calculation.

Beginner pool staking amount rules:

For users staking in the beginner pool, the staking amount per period is not limited by the average BGB holdings for the seven days prior to the promotion, but the staking amount cannot be higher than the maximum individual staking amount.

2. Rule updates for the different staking pools users can participate in

When the current Launchpool promotion only has a beginner pool, only beginners can participate.

When the current Launchpool promotion only has a normal pool, both beginners and existing users can participate.

When the current Launchpool promotion has a normal pool and a beginner pool, beginners can only participate in the beginner pool, and existing users can only participate in the normal pool.
