Layer 2s Move Toward Platform for Chains | Crypto Daily Digest July. 27
Optimism's Superchain initiative attracts very popular projects like Coinbase and Worldcoin. Other Layer 2s are building similar stacks: Arbitrum's Orbit, zkSync's ZK Stack, and Polygon's Supernets
Optimism's Superchain initiative is gaining immense popularity, attracting nearly 10 projects to build on top of OP Stack, including renowned names such as Coinbase's Base, Magi from a16z, Zora Network, and Public Goods Network from Gitcoin.
Superchain is a horizontally scalable network of chains that share security, a communication layer, and an open source development stack.
Other Ethereum Layer 2s are converging to a similar design pattern.
Arbitrum has its Orbit: a permissionless solution for developers to build a Layer 3 chains using Arbitrum technology.
zkSync announced ZK Stack in June: it is a modular, open-source framework to build custom ZK-powered L2s and L3s.
And finally in the latest Polygon 2.0 announcement, Polygon is building Polygon Supernets, which allow developers to create customizable app-chains with compliance implementation options.
