Vitalik Buterin plans to redesign Ethereum staking, praises UTXO payment model
On November 27th, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin stated in a video with The Defiant during the Devconnect conference in Turkey that he plans to redesign Ethereum's staking system and completely solve all performance issues. The Unspent Transaction Output (UTXO) payment system model has been praised for its characteristics.
Vitalik Buterin shared his views on integrating various new protocols into the Ethereum code blockchain. He specifically mentioned private mempools, the ERC-4337 account abstraction protocol, code precompilation, ZK-EVMs, and fluid staking. Among these protocols, he prefers to integrate protocols like the ERC-4337 account abstraction protocol, while protocols like mempools require more caution. He stated that integrating any protocol involves balancing development flexibility, performance advantages, and centralization risks.
Vitalik Buterin also expressed concern about the increasing concentration of Ethereum's fluid staking in the proof-of-stake model. Ethereum fluid staking providers Lido and Rocket Pool have over 32% of the staking supply. He stated that although they have set up security mechanisms, it may not be enough.
