Ben Armstrong, the self-proclaimed minister for the mainstream adoption of Bitcoin (BTC) and other cryptocurrencies, has quit his daily crypto livestream shows after a three-year run.
Popularly known as Bitboy, Armstrong commanded a loyal following of crypto enthusiasts before a swirl of scandals eroded his credibility in the industry. From fallouts with colleagues and corporate partners to unending financial constraints, Bitboy’s woes seem to be getting out of hand.
Bitboy Says Goodbye to Crypto Show Fans
In a Twitter (X) post shared on February 1, Bitboy announced the end of his daily crypto livestream, terming it “a good run” after three years.
“My daily crypto livestream has been my life. We had a good run. 3 years. Every Monday through Friday without rare exception. Holidays. Birthdays. Market crashes. Bull market tops. Epic rants. I was there with you through it all. I’ll miss you guys,” Bitboy wrote.The X post came shortly after the crypto influencer shared a 10-minute emotional video on his YouTube channel explaining why he had to quit the show.
In the video , Armstrong decried how his daily shows were no longer “financially viable” and needed $25,000 in weekly production costs. The influencer further revealed that he was spending “about $100,000 a month” on legal fees.
“We're barely making it out here, guys. We've got lawyers coming at me from every angle.” Armstrong stated. “Everyone I know is coming after me right now”.Armstrong is currently entangled in a legal battle with the Hit Network, a company he helped co-found and claims are taking him through “the harrowing experience” of his existence, including taking all his money.
