Founder of Uniswap: The Uniswap interface is open source and licensed under GPL
Uniswap founder Hayden Adams stated on social media that the Uniswap interface is open source and uses GPL license. We intend to open source it because we want people to fork it. In fact, the Github repo has been forked about 4,700 times. The Uniswap brand is different from decentralized protocols or open source software interfaces in that it can be used in multiple ways, but there are restrictions in the trademark policy. For example, a fork can be described as "built on the Uniswap protocol", but cannot be described as "built by the Uniswap team". Our trademark policy is based on the trademark policies of Linux and Mozilla and rooted in open source best practices.
