Vitalik launches “rainbow staking” and “recovery hard fork” on Ethereum
During the Ethtaipei 2024 event held in Taiwan, Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin introduced "rainbow staking", a new conceptual framework aimed at allowing protocol service providers to participate in a differentiated protocol service menu. Rainbow staking aims to integrate various protocol services in a plug-and-play manner, enhancing the economic value and participation of individual subscribers and addressing the challenges of achieving single-slot finality (SSF) with beneficial trade-offs. In addition, to address the potential risks posed by quantum computers, Buterin proposed a "recovery hard fork" to protect Ethereum from unauthorized access, highlighting the blockchain's preparedness for such threats.
