Three crypto advocacy groups file amicus briefs for Tornado Cash developer Roman Storm
On April 7th, CoinCenter, Blockchain Association, and DeFi Education Fund each submitted a friend-of-the-court brief in support of Tornado Cash developer Roman Storm's motion to dismiss the charges against him. In the brief, these organizations state that the government's suit against Roman Storm and Roman Semenov contains numerous factual and legal errors. Additionally, the brief explains in detail how Tornado Cash works without granting developers control over user assets and argues that if the government's position that Tornado Cash is a money transmission business were to stand, then developers would be unable to comply with the Bank Secrecy Act, effectively making the government's interpretation equivalent to a ban on anonymous protocols.
