.bit will become a decentralized identity protocol running on Bitcoin layer through the RGB++ protocol
d.id's decentralized identity protocol .bit is preparing for a major technical upgrade to be compatible with the RGB++ protocol, making .bit an asset running on top of Bitcoin. Currently, .bit supports parsing and binding to Bitcoin addresses, enabling the transfer of Bitcoin and RGB++ assets.RGB++ is an extension protocol based on RGB. Through homomorphic binding, it maps Bitcoin UTXOs to Cells on Nervos CKB, bringing Turing-complete contract extensions and performance extensions to Bitcoin without cross-chain and security loss. The .bit team has already completed a $13 million Series A financing round.
