ConsenSys founder: Any DEGEN tip received will be used to defend the Ethereum ecosystem
Joseph Lubin, the founder of Consensys, stated on Warpcast that any DEGEN tips received will be used to defend the Ethereum ecosystem. Previously, Consensys, an Ethereum infrastructure development company, sued the U.S. SEC, accusing it of illegally seizing power over Ethereum. The company hopes that the federal court will declare that Ethereum is not a security, and any investigation based on the idea that Ethereum is a security will violate ConsenSys' Fifth Amendment rights and administrative procedures. MetaMask is not a broker under federal law, and its staking service does not violate securities laws. The SEC is prohibited from investigating or taking enforcement action related to MetaMask's exchange or staking functions.
