Panasonic explores using DCJPY digital currency for travel passes
Panasonic has announced a project to explore the use of the DCJPY digital currency to create a tourist pass. DCJPY is a tokenized deposit plan supported by Japan's largest companies and is scheduled to launch in mid-2024. The core of this experiment will involve a sightseeing pass that allows tourists to ride trains and buses an unlimited number of times for a fixed fee, and enjoy discounts at shops, restaurants, and other leisure destinations. The goal is to use smart contracts to allocate the revenue paid by tourists.
