Yuxian: A phishing gang returned 80% of the stolen funds in a rare incident, retaining only 20% as a bounty
The founder of SlowMist, Yu Xian, tweeted that a user had almost $7 million worth of ETH assets re-pledged by the old phishing group Inferno Drainer through permit offline authorization signature. Today, the operating team (which accounts for 80% of the phishing profits) unexpectedly refunded the victim. This rare move may be because they obtained the chips and chose to refund and receive the reward.According to Scam Sniffer, the victim paid a 20% (362 ETH) reward and recovered 80% (1445 ETH) of the stolen funds.
