US authorities seize 70 cryptocurrency scam websites targeting Russian community
On June 8th, the Brooklyn District Attorney's Office announced that its cryptocurrency department had seized 70 domains used to scam the Russian community. The scam involved fake Facebook ads, including a deepfake of Tesla CEO Elon Musk. Over 20 Brooklyn residents and other victims from across the country lost a total of $5 million.
