Cryptocurrency may take center stage in Biden-Trump debate
Cryptocurrency may become a topic of discussion in the upcoming presidential debate. To this end, cryptocurrency advocacy group Stand With Crypto has launched an online letter-writing campaign that has been signed by nearly 2,300 people, calling on CNN moderators to ask cryptocurrency-related questions. Sabrina Siddiqui, a spokesperson for the organization, said this would help voters understand the presidential candidates' positions on this important economic issue. President Biden's digital asset policy record includes multiple executive orders and regulatory agency actions, while President Trump has shifted from a skeptical attitude in the past to supporting cryptocurrency mining and opposing central bank digital currencies (CBDCs). Kristin Smith, CEO of the Blockchain Association, said this marks a significant advancement for cryptocurrency in national political debates.
