EU, US emphasize cooperation on crypto regulation
The EU-US Joint Forum on Financial Regulation was held last week, where participants exchanged views on topics of common interest. This is part of the regular financial regulatory dialogue between the two sides, hosted by the European Commission and the US Treasury Department. During the forum, participants discussed digital finance and crypto assets, with a focus on regulatory cooperation and the implementation of the EU Digital Operational Resilience Act and the Regulation of Markets in Crypto Assets (MiCA). Both sides emphasized the importance of international cooperation on issues related to crypto assets (including stablecoins) and the need to continue coordinating international payment agendas to support financial stability and market integrity.
