National Bureau of Statistics: GDP growth in the first half of 2024 is 5% year-on-year
On July 15th, according to a report by Interface News, the National Bureau of Statistics released data on Monday showing that the country's gross domestic product (GDP) in the first half of this year was 61,683.6 billion yuan, with a year-on-year increase of 5.0% at constant prices. Among them, the GDP in the second quarter increased by 4.7% year-on-year, with a growth rate 0.6 percentage points lower than that of the first quarter.Analysts believe that the economic data in the second quarter showed a strong external demand and weak internal demand, a decline in production-side prosperity from high to low, continued improvement in exports, and a slight rebound in prices. In order to continue to consolidate the good momentum of steady economic recovery, it is necessary to increase policy efforts, boost domestic demand, and expand effective demand.
