Telegram tap-to-earn baseball video game launched by Delabs Games
Quick Take South Korea-based Delabs Games has launched a Telegram clicker game called Giga Chad Bat. The developer hopes the baseball-themed tap-to-earn game will capitalize on the popularity of Telegram-based games like Hamster Kombat and Notcoin.
The world of Telegram clicker games appears to be becoming more competitive by the day.
Following what appears to be swelling popularity for crypto games like Hamster Kombat, Notcoin and Yescoin — simple tap-to-earn titles easily accessible through the Telegram messaging app — South Korean Delabs Games has announced it is launching the baseball-themed Giga Chad Bat.
"Launching Giga Chad Bat on Telegram is a big swing for Delabs," Delabs Games CEO Joonmo Kwon said in a statement. "Our focus with Delabs has always been delivering enjoyable gameplay while integrating web3 features to enhance, rather than overshadow, the fun. We believe Giga Chad Bat will continue this tradition on Telegram, prioritizing engagement and community interaction on a platform players are familiar with."
Kwon is a successful gaming executive with several years of experience, including working on popular mobile titles like Boxing Star. He formerly served as CEO of the massive gaming publisher Nexon Games.
In recent months, Telegram clicker games like Notcoin and Hamster Kombat appear to have onboarded tens of millions of gamers willing to perform simple tasks like tapping their screens in the hopes of earning TON blockchain-based tokens. Basing the games on Telegram allows developers to tap into the messaging app's roughly 900 million user base. Hamster Kombat's team has said it has more than 250 million users although it's unclear what quantity of players are bots.
On Monday, the web3 venture capital firm The Open Platform (TOP) announced it had invested in Akedo Games to further the development of more Telegram games based on the TON blockchain.
With Giga Chad Bat, players have the chance to compete for points that can then be converted into GAME tokens, according to Delabs Games. The launch of the new Telegram game comes on the heels of the company releasing another crypto title, Rumble Racing Star, in February.
Delabs Games said users have played more than 2 million races on Rumble Racing Star, which is available on both Apple and Android devices.
The gaming developer has raised a total of $12 million, according to its website. Its backers include 4:33 Creative Labs, Hashed Ventures and Polygon Labs.
