Nigerian prison doctor detained over Binance executive's health concerns
Emeka Nwite, a judge of the Abuja Federal High Court, issued an arrest warrant for Abraham Ehizojie, a doctor at the Kuje Correctional Facility. The arrest warrant was issued because Ehizojie failed to provide medical reports for Binance executive Tigran Gambaryan or failed to appear in court as previously ordered. Ekene Iheanacho, a lawyer for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), expressed surprise at the absence of medical personnel. Mordi requested that the court issue an arrest warrant for the doctor and immediately send Gambaryan to the hospital for medical diagnosis, citing severe back pain and deteriorating health of the person involved.
