Donald Trump To Launch Fourth NFT Collection, Reaffirms Support For Crypto Industry
Republican presidential contender Donald Trump plans to release another non-fungible token (NFT) collection in yet another show of support for the cryptocurrency industry.
In a Bloomberg interview , Trump said that his past three NFT collections were “very successful.”
“I did it three times and I’m going to do another one, because the people want me to do another one,” Trump stated. “It’s unbelievable spirit. Beautiful.”
Trump released his first NFT collection in December 2022, featuring 45,000 digital trading cards. This collection sold out in barely a day. However, the same demand was not witnessed in the subsequent releases.
Trump Reaffirms His Support For Crypto
Trump has become a major supporter of the crypto industry, and he will speak at the Bitcoin 2024 conference later this month.
Trump reiterated his support, saying the US government needed to back the crypto industry and prevent a potential takeover by China or other countries.
Trump noted that the industry had a good foundation but was still in its infancy, adding that he didn’t want to be responsible for allowing another country to dominate the space.
“It’s a baby,” he said. “It’s an infant right now. But I don’t want to be responsible for allowing another country to take over this sphere. If we don’t do it, China is going to pick it up and China’s going to have it.”
Trump further referred to crypto industry players he has met at fundraisers as “top-flight people.” This comes after his campaign received donations from the Kraken and Gemini crypto exchange founders.
