Sony has yet again hit the gaming world with a leak on Helldivers 2 updates on PlayStation 5 through a notification that surprised players. The notification stated that a premium Warbond, Freedom’s Flame, was coming to the Destroyer’s Acquisition panel.

Initially, the notification seemed to be about the previously released Viper Commandos Warbond. The details, however, contained information on the supposed premium Warbond Freedom’s Flame. Some features mentioned in the notification included cool emotes, capes, patterns, fiery weapons, player cards, life-saving armor, and more.
In June, another leak attached to the Freedom’s Flame Warbond was released on X, including armor, possible Warbond titles, patterns, and more. However, there was no confirmation of where the uploaded image came from or if Warbond would come to Helldivers 2.
Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead Games has not said anything concerning the release of any Warbond, including the Freedom’s Flame. The company also hasn’t confirmed details of Sony’s latest leak.
Sony is the publisher of Helldivers 2, but it has been involved in several controversies this year concerning other leaked updates. A Reddit post announced one such leak on June 19 about a new stratagem. Sony also leaked the Destiny 2: The Final Shape expansion in May.
Arrowhead Games prioritizes quality over quantity
The new Arrowhead CEO, Shams Jorjani, mentioned the team’s dedication to creating better content for Helldivers 2 fans. Shams introduced himself as the new CEO in May, replacing the previous CEO and current Arrowhead’s Chief Creative Officer, Johan Pilestedt.
In his speech, Shams highlighted the mission behind the takeover, which was to bring Pilestedt closer to the games the company makes. While Pilestedt held an integral part in the company as its head, Jorjani believed that Pilestedt’s role as the guiding voice as developers create game elements was more important.
“ If everyone can hear Pilen’s sage voice in the back of their heads when they’re balancing weapons, designing missions or enemies the better.”
Shams Jorjani, Arrowhead’s CEO
Shams Jorjani also appreciated Arrowhead’s collaboration with Sony, which made Helldivers 2 a reality. The Arrowhead CEO revealed the company’s plans to continue working with Sony to improve Helldivers 2 for gamers.
In another release by Sony and Arrowhead, the two companies insisted on their dedication to listen to players’ feedback. Arrowhead Games decided to release Warbonds at a slower rate to give players quality over quantity.
The company expects the delayed releases to allow it to polish the products more for players. Arrowhead Games will also change the item arrangements in Warbonds to make room for more items.
Sony and Arrowhead Games change requirements for Helldivers 2
In May, Sony changed the account requirements for Helldivers 2 players on Steam, angering a section of the gaming community. Sony demanded PC Helldivers 2 players connect their Steam accounts to a PlayStation Network account to continue accessing the game.

The option to connect to PSN was previously optional. However, Sony changed the statement, saying some games required signing in to a PSN account. Many remained averse to these changes as some could not manage to have a PSN account due to geographical restrictions.
Helldivers 2 community manager, Spitz, mentioned the need for players to express their displeasure. He also asked players to change their reviews on Steam to negative after these changes. Spitz believed that leaving negative reviews on Steam would make a bigger difference than angry posts on the Helldivers 2 Discord page. The gaming community believes that the PSN account requirement should have been made clear from the beginning to allow players opt in for a refund within the required period.
