Kamala Harris' Recent Appointments Suggest Potential Shift in Crypto Stance
Kamala Harris, who is campaigning for the presidency, has appointed David Plouffe, a former member of the Binance Global Advisory Board, as her senior adviser for strategy. Plouffe had been working for Alchemy Pay before joining Harris' team. Harris has also recruited Brian Nelson, a former undersecretary for terrorism and financial intelligence at the U.S. Treasury Department, who has been described as open-minded towards the crypto industry. Despite declining an invitation to speak at the Bitcoin Conference, Harris' appointments suggest a potential shift towards a more favorable approach to crypto.
