Immutable taps Fireblocks to help game developers manage digital assets
Immutable, a Web3 gaming blockchain, announced its integration with infrastructure provider Fireblocks to assist game developers in securely storing and managing their assets.
In an announcement sent to Cointelegraph, Immutable said the new integration allows game developers to store and manage assets associated with game economies, non-fungible tokens (NFTs) , and decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols.
Asset management support for developers
Immutable also said it would enhance projects’ oversight of their holdings within Immutable’s Polygon-powered zero-knowledge Ethereum Virtual Machine (zkEVM) chain.
Immutable president and co-founder Robbie Ferguson said that the infrastructure of Fireblocks would support game developers in managing assets in NFT and game transactions and ensure smooth operations in DeFi.
The Immutable team believes this new integration “will reshape treasury management for games, builders, DeFi projects and ecosystem partners on Immutable zkEVM.”
Apart from asset management, the integration also contributes to security. Immutable believes that Fireblock’s security solutions would contribute to securing digital assets in the Immutable network.
What is Fireblocks?
Fireblocks is a security service provider that helps blockchain projects move, store and issue digital assets. The organization brings wallets, custodians and financial trading partners into one platform.
The company aims to become the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunications (SWIFT) system of the cryptocurrency space.
On Aug. 14, Fireblocks was granted a New York state charter to provide crypto custody services for clients in the United States. This allows the company to provide cold storage solutions to clients in the US.

Immutable shuts down NFT marketplace
The new integration follows Immutable’s announcement about shutting down its NFT marketplace . On Aug. 8, the gaming and NFT blockchain said it’s retiring its marketplace on Aug. 13 to expand its ecosystem through partnerships.
The NFT chain said the marketplace was created to display the Immutable software development kit (SDK) capabilities. The network said projects had already been created since its launch. Because of this, the network said that it was time to wind down its operations so it could “see the Immutable Ecosystem grow.”
As for user assets, they will remain linked to their wallets regardless of which game or marketplace they use. Immutable also noted that they use a global order book to help users see their listings in other marketplaces with the same feature.
