Bitget, a prominent cryptocurrency exchange and Web3 company, has introduced the Blockchain4Her Awards to celebrate and empower women in the blockchain industry.

These awards are part of Bitget's broader Blockchain4Her initiative, which aims to promote gender diversity and innovation within the blockchain space.

Launched in January with a $10 million commitment, this program seeks to address the significant funding gap for female-led blockchain startups, which currently receive only 6% of total funding.

The Blockchain4Her Awards will recognise women who are making significant contributions to the blockchain industry, offering them career-changing opportunities such as scholarships, mentorship, and media exposure.

Nominations are open until August 30, with the winners being announced at the SheFi Summit in Singapore on September 17, 2024.

The awards are divided into two categories.

The Rising Female in Blockchain Award will celebrate emerging talents eager to make their mark in Web3, while the Innovative Web3 Female Entrepreneur Award will honor women founders who are driving transformative advancements in the space.

Winners will receive scholarships for blockchain education, opportunities to speak at industry events, and a trip to Singapore to participate in the awards ceremony and other blockchain-related activities.

The judging panel for the awards includes influential leaders from the blockchain industry, such as Bitget CEO Gracy Chen, who has a strong history in the crypto world and has been recognised for her contributions to gender equality.

The panel also includes other prominent figures who are committed to fostering diversity in the industry.

By launching the Blockchain4Her Awards, Bitget is not only recognising the achievements of women in blockchain but also encouraging greater participation and leadership from women in the rapidly evolving Web3 space.

This initiative highlights the importance of creating a more inclusive environment in the blockchain industry, where women can thrive and contribute to the future of technology.
