Base: Basenames built on the open source ENS protocol is now live
On August 21st, Base officially announced that Basenames is now live. Users can obtain unique base.eth usernames through Dutch auction, which serves as their on-chain identity in the Base ecosystem. The auction price will gradually decrease within 36 hours to ensure fair competition.
Basenames is built on the open-source ENS protocol, aiming to simplify transactions, promote collaboration, and enhance on-chain connections between users. In addition, early Base Name Service (BNS) users will enjoy special discounts when registering.
