Malaysian police use steamrollers to crush hundreds of Bitcoin mining rigs to combat power theft
On August 21st, it was reported by Decrypt that Malaysian officials crushed 985 bitcoin mining devices on Monday as part of a nationwide crackdown on electricity theft related to cryptocurrency miners.
A circulated video shows a heavy roller slowly crushing these mining devices in an attempt to destroy them. The operation destroyed equipment worth about $450,000.
Malaysian officials are working to crack down on electricity theft, which is why these seized mining devices were destroyed.
