Yassamin Ansari wins Arizona primary with $1.4 million backing from Fairshake
Yassamin Ansari, a Democratic candidate who supports cryptocurrency, narrowly defeated Raquel Terán, who was supported by Senator Elizabeth Warren, in the primary election for Arizona's third congressional district with a margin of 39 votes. This result was confirmed after a recount on Tuesday. Ansari previously served as deputy mayor of Phoenix and is likely to become one of the congressmen who support friendly regulation for the US digital asset industry in a strongly Democratic district in the general election.Fairshake, the major political action committee in the cryptocurrency industry, provided about $1.4 million in advertising support for Ansari's campaign, which drew strong criticism from her opponents.Josh Vlasto, a spokesperson for Fairshake, said, "We are proud to support a leader like Ansari to enter Congress, work with both parties, embrace innovation, and promote economic growth." So far, Fairshake has provided funding for up to 21 congressional campaigns.
