Sorella Labs Raises $7.5M Seed Round to Tackle MEV Issues on Ethereum
Sorella Labs, a Web3 startup, has raised $7.5 million in a seed round led by Paradigm to develop tools to address maximum extractable value (MEV) issues on Ethereum. MEV is a profit technique used by bots and validators with more resources to gain an unfair advantage over others by targeting inefficiencies in the trade ordering mechanism through front-running, sandwich attacks, and arbitrage. Sorella is building two products, Brontes and Angstrom, to mitigate MEV at the application layer, with Brontes being an open-source blockchain analytics tool that identifies MEV through pattern matching and analysis. The Ethereum network has been one of the most affected networks by MEV actors since completing the merge upgrade.
