Good Game Global and Deutsche Telekom have announced the return of the T-esports Championship (TEC) for its third season, with a focus on the CEE region. This year’s competition features a whopping €100,000 prize pool, thus making the event one of the major esports affairs in the area.

The tournament will host teams from Croatia, North Macedonia, Montenegro, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland. Players from these six countries can participate in open qualifiers up to September 20th, 2024. The final will be held in the form of a large-scale LAN event to take place in Budapest, Hungary in November 2024, following a series of Swiss and group-stage matches. The city for this LAN final event has not yet been disclosed.

T-esports championship expands with new games and a broader reach

EA SPORTS FC 24, Brawl Stars, Counter-Strike 2 and even the popular League of Legends, will be part of the T-esports Championship this coming season . This selection is set to create a huge interest as these games are considered among the most played and watched games in the esports ecosystem. The addition of these games indicates that the tournament’s objective is to reach out to the players and their fans across the region.

Good Game Global CEO Nikola Stolnik emphasized the tournament’s growth and vision. He pointed out that this year’s TEC incorporates all the targets that were put in place about five years ago when the idea of pursuing such an event first matured. Good Game Global has many operators within the area as it promotes many esports competitions, especially the annual Student Esports Tournament and the annual Good Game B2B competition.

According to Patrick Schreiber, Project Lead T-esports and Business Development Manager, Deutsche Telekom, TEC acquired substantial growth. This year, the tournament is going to three more markets in eastern European territories: the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Poland. This is a notable change, as the participation and influence of the tournament grows. Schreiber believes that such expansion and a big prize pool have made the T-esports Championship one of the biggest esports competitions in the Eastern Europe region.

Budapest is set to host LAN finals in November 2024

As the competition nears its completion, all the prospects seem to be directed towards Budapest, where the TEC’s LAN finals are set to happen in November 2024. Although it is still too early to reveal the exact location of the event, the choice of the city illustrates the increasing contribution of the host country to the regional esports community. The tournament is likely to have an immense appeal to the participants as well as the audience in the final stage which will be a spectacular finish of the competition.

The T-esports Championship enters its third season with the second season still going strong drawing talents from all over the CEE region. The event plans to attract further emerging nations and trending up game titles will make sure that it is well positioned in the esports calendar.
