Dan Albert, the Executive Director of the Solana Foundation, responded to questions about network decentralization. He stated that the ability to coordinate repairs does not mean that the Solana network is centralized. On August 9th, a serious vulnerability was discovered by Solana verification nodes, and repairs were coordinated behind the scenes to prevent a network collapse. The distribution and coordination of the patch was done behind the scenes. Albert emphasized that this should not be confused with centralization. He pointed out that there are 1,500 block production nodes globally, operated by numerous individuals, and the patch is open source, so the decentralized characteristics of the network remain.
