Tether invests 100 million dollars in Latin American agricultural giant Adecoagro
Tether, the issuer of USDT stablecoin, has acquired 9.8% of shares in Latin American agricultural giant Adecoagro. Argentine media reported that the company invested $100 million to diversify its investments in agriculture and food sectors. Valued at over $1 billion, Adecoagro operates directly in Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay. The company is a major milk producer in Argentina and manages more than 193,000 hectares of sugarcane crops in Brazil for refined sugar and ethanol production. This is one of Tether's first investments in this sector; previously, Tether had expanded into areas such as green energy, bitcoin mining, artificial intelligence and educational programs.
