The Giant Bitcoin Whale Woke Up from a Long Winter’s Sleep: He Paid a Ridiculous Price Years Ago, Here’s His Wealth Now
A giant cryptocurrency whale that had not made any transactions for many years became active and made transfers, according to onchain data.
According to an alert published by cryptocurrency monitoring platform Whale Alerts, a Bitcoin whale that has not made any transactions for 10.7 years has become active.
The address in question contains a total of 108 Bitcoins, the total value of which is approximately $6.06 million at today's prices. The whale's previous activity was in 2014.
However, it is also important to remember that this whale bought 108 BTC by paying only $87,000 in total at that time.
The whale wallet transferred all of its BTC to another cryptocurrency wallet. Then, this new wallet immediately divided its assets into two separate wallets.
It was also noteworthy that the whale did not perform any testing before moving the funds.
The whale wallet’s total wallet wealth over the course of 11 years peaked in March after the BTC price renewed its all-time high, reaching around $8 million. However, it is not known whether the giant whale’s intention was to actually sell or simply change wallets.
