Tonkeeper non-custodial wallet to support TON transaction fee payments with HMSTR
Quick Take Users of the TON ecosystem non-custodial wallet Tonkeeper will be able to pay TON transaction fees with HMSTR. The popular Telegram-based web3 game Hamster Kombat scheduled its first airdrop for HMSTR on Sept. 26.
The TON ecosystem non-custodial wallet Tonkeeper has added support for HMSTR, the fresh token from the popular Telegram-based web3 game Hamster Kombat.
The move will let users pay TON transaction fees with HMSTR using Tonkeeper's Battery feature, which is "a system, abstracted away from the user interface, that allows them to send transactions," Tonkeeper Chief Strategy Officer Daniel Cawrey told The Block.
"When a user is airdropped the HMSTR, they have no TON. Battery is the solution for that. You can top up the Tonkeeper Battery with crypto on TON and also using the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store," he said, adding that most Tonkeeper users are on Android. However, the feature will not be available until Oct. 1 when HMSTR airdrop loads are reduced.
Cawrey noted that Tonkeeper has 34 million monthly active users and 8 million daily active users as of Sept. 25.
The game Hamster Kombat tasks users to run a cryptocurrency exchange, with the gameplay largely involving tapping images of hamsters to earn cryptocurrency. The game amassed 300 million users as of Aug. 6.
Its developers slated its first airdrop for Sept. 26 and intend to allocate 60% of the tokens to its players, The Block previously reported.
