Bitdeer completes testing of energy-efficient SEAL02 mining chip
Bitdeer Technologies Group has successfully completed prototype testing for its SEAL02 Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) mining chip, achieving a power efficiency of 13.5 joules per terahash (J/T) in low-voltage mode.
Developed in partnership with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), the SEAL02 chip demonstrates Bitdeer's focus on energy-efficient solutions.
The test results confirm the chip’s power efficiency, placing it among the most efficient mining chips available.
Bitdeer plans to integrate the SEAL02 chip into its upcoming Sealminer A2 machines, with full-scale production expected by November 2024.
The company is also continuing its research and development efforts, including work on its SEAL03 chip, which aims to further advance its mining technology.
This development follows other advancements in the cryptocurrency mining industry, with companies like Bitmain and Microbt recently introducing powerful mining machines with hashpower capacities ranging from 450 to 860 terahashes per second (TH/s).
Bitdeer emphasised its commitment to setting new benchmarks for energy efficiency and transparency within the cryptocurrency mining sector, positioning the SEAL02 chip as a critical part of its roadmap for future innovations.
At press time, the Bitcoin price was $65,265.31.
