Ever since HBO dropped the trailer of their upcoming documentary on Satoshi Nakamoto, the anonymous creator of Bitcoin, there has been a strong buzz in the crypto community regarding the identity of the mysterious person/group of persons. As always with any hyped event, memes have also flooded social media ahead of the release of HBO documentary titled “Money Electric: The Bitcoin Mystery” scheduled to be released on October 8.
Many people are curious whether the documentary will finally reveal who Nakamoto is . It maybe Vitalik Buterin, founder of Ethereum, or maybe renowned cryptographer Len Sassaman , or publicity-hungry computer scientist Craig Wright, or even bigfoot! Others are making funny guesses through memes, even suggesting historical figures like Albert Einstein.
In one tweet, the Satoshi Club posted, “Satoshi Nakamoto is Vitalik Buterin,” with a picture of a young man. The joke quickly went viral.
Another user, Goltra, hinted that Einstein might actually be the real Satoshi, keeping everyone entertained while waiting for the big reveal.
The meme frenzy didn’t stop there as some users also took a potshot at Netflix’s “woke portrayal” of historical figures as a user named naiive joked, “If Netflix made a movie about Satoshi Nakamoto,” sparking even more speculation about how different platforms would portray the mysterious figure.
Meanwhile, X user called Badger tweeted, “HBO: ‘We just found Satoshi Nakamoto!’” capturing the excitement surrounding the documentary.
