Sony's Layer2 project Soneium announced that it will undergo two major upgrades at the end of this month. The upgrades will introduce Granite and Fjord through a dual hard fork upgrade, and update its Layer 1 contract to v1.6.0. Soneium stated that these upgrades will improve its security and efficiency, prepare Soneium Minato to join Superchain and expand the Soneium ecosystem with other OP L2, and enable Superchain governance to oversee future L1 contract upgrades, thereby strengthening the decentralization of its ecosystem.
