Liberty advocates launch petition calling for release and pardon of early Bitcoin investor Roger Ver
Libertarian advocate Aaron Day has initiated a petition calling for the release and pardon of early Bitcoin investor Roger Ver, which has collected 245 signatures out of a required 500. Ver is facing extradition to the United States on charges of tax evasion.
The petition points out that Ver is often referred to as the "Bitcoin Jesus" and has been unfairly targeted due to his stance on freedom, privacy, and outspoken advocacy for cryptocurrency. According to the petition, Ver is currently being held in Spain, and the US government is attempting to prosecute him.
Day believes that the charges against Ver lack substantial evidence and emphasizes his pioneering contributions in the cryptocurrency field, including early investments in companies such as Bitcoin.com, Ripple, and Kraken. (Bitcoin.com)
