CME executive: XRP ETF already has key benchmark index
Tim McCourt, Senior Managing Director at CME, stated that the launch of an XRP ETF has taken its first significant step forward. CME has XRP reference rates and real-time indices, which is the first step in building this ecosystem, with over 50 real-time prices and reference rates. This is crucial for providers like Bitwise, as they can now point to a fully regulated benchmark. A week ago, the US Securities and Exchange Commission received an XRP ETF application from Canary Capital, the second provider to apply for an XRP ETF after Bitwise Asset Management.
