Nayib Bukele, the President of El Salvador, has donated 2 Bitcoins, now valued at $133, to support an initiative to build 000 schools in Honduras. The gesture shows that the country's government is using its BTC reserves for regional development and humanitarian purposes, among other things.

Let us recall that El Salvador continues to adhere to its strategy and buys 1 bitcoin daily. According to the analytical platform Arkham, the country currently has 5913 BTC on its balance sheet.

El Salvador has also established itself as a world leader in Bitcoin adoption, starting with the country’s government recognizing the flagship cryptocurrency as legal tender on September 7, 2021. Under President Bukele’s leadership, the country has adopted several strategies to integrate Bitcoin into the national economy and financial infrastructure.

So, since 2021, all businesses in El Salvador are required to accept BTC along with the US dollar. To make this easier, the government launched the Chivo Wallet app and paid $30 for downloading and using it. The country has many crypto ATMs for easy exchange of bitcoins for dollars and vice versa.

El Salvador has also implemented several large-scale crypto projects, including Bitcoin mining using geothermal energy from volcanoes.
