Ripple Seals Another Notable Partnership For International Expansion
Ripple has announced a new partnership with Garanti BBVA Kripto, Turkey’s second-largest private bank, alongside IBM, to enhance the security and performance of its digital assets trading platform.
This collaboration is part of Garanti BBVA’s efforts to cater to the growing demand for secure cryptocurrency trading solutions in Turkey. By integrating Ripple’s custody services and IBM’s infrastructure technology, the bank aims to provide a robust and institutional-grade security system for managing digital assets.
Ripple Custody and IBM’s Role in Securing Digital Assets
The partnership leverages Ripple Custody, which offers a comprehensive solution for safeguarding digital assets, such as private keys and applications, through advanced encryption and data isolation.
This collaboration is particularly noteworthy as it coincides with Ripple’s ongoing legal battle with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), a fact highlighted by XRPcryptowolf on X, who noted Ripple’s continued growth despite these challenges.
Meanwhile, Crypto Professor, another user, commented on how this development sets new benchmarks for security and performance in Turkey’s burgeoning cryptocurrency market.

Impact on the Turkish Crypto Market
IBM’s role in the collaboration brings its IBM LinuxONE platform, designed for secure data management and regulatory compliance. Together, Ripple and IBM are providing a safe environment for over 14,000 users on the Garanti BBVA Kripto platform, which has been expanding rapidly since its launch in 2023.
The new services, following a successful pilot phase last year, will be available to all customers, further enhancing Garanti BBVA’s offerings in the digital asset space.
This strategic move positions Garanti BBVA Kripto to expand its market reach by offering more secure and diverse digital assets, such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP.
According to Korcan Abalı, CEO of Garanti BBVA Kripto, the partnership is expected to meet the rising demand for cryptocurrency storage and transfer, with institutional-grade security as the cornerstone of their offering.
The integrated system will also feature Hardware Security Modules (HSMs), which meet the highest security certifications and mitigate risks posed by malicious actors.
Ripple’s continued expansion into international markets , even amid legal scrutiny, highlights its commitment to growing its ecosystem. The collaboration with Garanti BBVA comes at a time when Turkey’s interest in cryptocurrencies is growing, driven by both market demand and regulatory developments.
The use of Ripple’s custody solution and IBM’s technology reflects the increasing need for secure digital asset infrastructure in countries like Turkey.
This partnership is expected to have a lasting impact on the Turkish cryptocurrency landscape, positioning Garanti BBVA as a leader in providing secure digital asset services, while also strengthening Ripple’s presence in the region
