Cardano founder: Developers plan to run Nintendo emulator on Hydra
On October 28th, Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson discussed Bitcoin and BitcoinOS (BOS), which is a smart contract operating system designed for Bitcoin, aimed at providing advanced functionality and seamless interoperability. In a recent partnership announcement, Cardano and BOS teamed up to integrate Grail bridging, thus establishing a connection between Cardano DeFi and the $1.3 trillion liquidity of Bitcoin.
Hydra improves Cardano's transaction efficiency and reduces latency by processing off-chain transactions. It supports parallel transactions through "Hydra Heads" or state channels, enabling faster interactions. In the discussion, Hoskinson mentioned that developers successfully ran the classic video game "Doom" on Hydra, with smart contracts verifying changes in the game's internal state.
This means that every action taken by the player - whether walking, shooting, or looking around - is recorded as a transaction through smart contract calls on the Hydra L2 chain. Hoskinson then said, "Next, we will try to run the Nintendo emulator on Hydra."
