New York Judge to Rule on Greenidge's Bitcoin Mining License by November 14th
Mining company Greenidge Generation has been granted a temporary extension on Oct. 31 to allow its bitcoin mining facility in Dresden to continue operating until Nov. 14, the company said.
In a filing on Tuesday, Greenidge noted that it expects the Supreme Court of Yates County, New York, to rule on its lawsuit against the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) on November 14th. In June 2022, the DEC denied Greenidge a renewal of its Title V air permit for the Dresden plant. After an appeals process, Greenidge was finally denied again in May of this year.
A court hearing was held on October 29th and the license has been further extended to November 14th.
Greenidge announced preliminary financial results for the third quarter earlier this month, stating that it produced 167 BTC between July and September, of which 54 BTC were produced at a proprietary hash rate and 113 BTC were produced for escrow customer NYDIG.
