Sotheby's Vice President: The BAN token is a project initiated out of personal interest. The claim that I profited 1 million dollars from it is completely untrue
Sotheby's Vice President and Digital Art Director Michael Bouhanna has issued a statement regarding recent rumors circulating online about the meme token BAN he created, leading to widespread misunderstandings and the spread of false information. Bouhanna clarified that the BAN token is a project he initiated out of personal interest on the Pump.Fun platform, completely unrelated to his position at Sotheby's, which did not participate in it. The project was initially released anonymously, with no anticipation of its rapid growth driven by community support nor any promotion or encouragement for others to purchase.
Bouhanna pointed out that the idea for BAN came from his understanding of the art piece "Comedian", using this token as a satirical commentary on meme-driven crypto markets. Furthermore, he emphasized that recent rumors claiming he profited $1 million from this project are entirely untrue; related wallets do not belong to him and most earnings are unrealized value.
