Polter Finance, a crypto lending and trading platform running on the Fantom blockchain, lost more than $7 million in a hack attack, Cyvers Alerts reported.
“A platform Polter Finance on the Phantom chain was reportedly exploited. Over $7 million worth of digital assets stolen!
The attacker initially funded via Ethereum and Tornado Cash, with the funds then being channeled via Fantom.”
After Polter Finance discovered the vulnerability, it paused its platform and notified investors. The protocol began investigating the stolen funds, tracing them to wallets on cryptocurrency exchange Binance.
The platform also said that an active investigation into the attack is ongoing, and that they have launched a search to identify the attacker and assets in collaboration with exchanges and security companies.
Following this attack news, the price of Polter Finance's native token POLTER experienced a major drop.
