Matrixport: Bitcoin bull market in 2025 may face various potential risk factors
On December 27, Matrixport pointed out in its latest weekly report that the Bitcoin bull market in 2025 may face various potential risk factors. Among them, BlackRock has stated that the decentralized nature of the Bitcoin protocol may not fully guarantee a supply cap of 21 million, sparking market discussion. In addition, Google announced the launch of a "Willow" quantum chip with 105 qubits, once again raising concerns about the potential threat of quantum computing to Bitcoin's security, although this technology is still in its early stages.
The report also mentioned that the Federal Reserve recently raised inflation expectations partly due to concerns about possible tariffs imposed by Trump but their actual impact might be limited. Matrixport believes that inflation issues next year may not be significant which provides room for Fed to maintain dovish stance.
In addition, historical data shows that bitcoin bull markets often peak during periods of high regulatory pressure. As US approval issues such as spot ETFs for bitcoin are gradually resolved, risks ending this bull run could be driven by other factors. The report warns after Trump's election; Fed might adopt more hawkish monetary policies bringing new uncertainties for Bitcoin and crypto markets.
