WSJ: French User Who Spent More Than $30 Million on Polymarket Betting on Trump Win Says “No Political Agenda”
The French user who spent more than $30 million on Polymarket betting on Trump's victory says he has “no political agenda,” according to the Wall Street Journal. “My aim is just to make money,” said the man, who called himself Théo, in a Zoom call with a WSJ reporter, describing himself as a Frenchman who has lived in the United States and worked as a trader at a bank. Théo reportedly opened Polymarket accounts in the names of Fredi9999, Theo4, PrincessCaro, and Michie and bet about $38 million on Trump in the 2024 election. If all of Théo's expectations of a Trump sweep come true, he could reportedly earn a return of more than $80 million, which is more than double the amount he invested. If Harris wins, Théo could lose all or most of his $30 million, which he claims is the bulk of his available liquid assets.
